…on my entry in the book, he had these kind words to say, “Et j’aime particulièrement la collaboration avec Jessica Abel qui surfe actuellement comme Kyle Baker, entre ce qu’on pourrait appeler la bande dessinée traditionnelle et la New Wave Graphic Novel. Elle travaille ici avec un jeune dessinateur que j’ai croisé et qui m’a semblé si brillant que je n’ai qu’une hâte, c’est de voir ses dessins : ils lui ressemblent et sont passionnants. Il s’appelle Wimberly.

Il y aurait encore quelques fioritures à supprimer, mais la délicatesse de son dessin, son amour réel des femmes, qu’il sait montrer dans des postures toutes ensemble naturelles et aguichantes, son sens de la couleur qui rejoint le meilleur de la Black Exploitation, telle qu’elle mourut dans les années 80 justement (Ah ! la discothèque rouge et la voiture verte), donne à penser que si les petits cochons ne le mangent pas, celui-là sera un dessinateur d’importance.”

New interviews detailing the process of the KDU artists involved in the “Is Brave” Diesel fragrance launch are now live at “News IsBrave”.

A bit of what I’m up to:

“Frogchildren Studios is proud to announce we are teaming up with G.O.O.D. Music, MY Music, Kanye West and Malik Yusef on the upcoming album “Kanye West and Malik Yusef present G.O.O.D. Morning, G.O.O.D. Night”
“101 Distribution is releasing the first authorized independent release from Kayne West’s G.O.O.D. Music label. The 30 song double disc is calledG.O.O.D. Morning, G.O.O.D. Night and features KRS-One, Twista, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Bun B and of course almost every other G.O.O.D. Music artist.”

Frogchildren’s Kevin Hanna and Barnaby Ward are bringing together 30 of the top artists and illustrators to create a unique image for each song off the album to be used as Album Art, T-Shirt designs and limited edition prints. Artists include: Tony Philippou, phunkstudios, Jeff Matsuda, Andrea Innocent, Christian Ward, Ronald “D-pi” Wimberly, Corey Lewis, and more!

I’m especially glad to be working on a project with a couple of new and old friends. Among them, Tony Philippou, with whom I worked on senior project at Pratt.

So The KDU invited me to participate in their big show they did launching Diesel’s new fragrance Bravery
It was dope. Plenty of great art. They really set it off, here’s some of my work and here’s a link to a blog with flicks from the event in NY and Miami.

I’ll be swinging thru. I’m also planning a signing. I’ll be in Berlin too, if you’re a comic book store owner who may like some signed copies or something or a friend lost to time and space… hollar, you know the math if I’m talking to you.
